LEED Certified Buildings

Library
The Fitchburg Public Library was completed in July of 2011.  The new building incorporated many sustainable design features including:

  • Geothermal wells to provide heating and cooling
  • Rain Gardens to control storm water run off
  • Plumbing features that use 40% less water then standard fixtures
  • 20% of the building materials had recycled content.  75% of construction waste was recycled or salvaged
  • Exterior lights were selected to meet dark-sky requirements.
