Fingerprinting

The department provides digital fingerprinting services to individuals who need to be fingerprinted for job applications, background checks or for any other purpose. A valid government-issued photo ID is required for fingerprinting.
The department only utilizes the Live Scan fingerprint machine, which digitally captures all fingerprints.
Traditional ink fingerprinting is not available from the department. See the "Additional Information Section" below if you are in need of ink fingerprints.

New Hours - Every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beginning Wednesday, May 12, 2021, fingerprinting services outlined on this page will be available at the police department every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by appointment only. Appointments are 20 minutes.Fingerprinting Appointments
We are unable to provide fingerprinting services at any other times.
Card Provided
Live Scan prints digital fingerprints on the standard FBI FD-258 card only. Unfortunately we cannot print to other cards or documents.
Cost
- $10 per card for City of Fitchburg residents
- $15 per card for non-residents
- Cash or check only
