  1. Fitchburg Center Farmers Market - Fall Fest

    September 20, 2018, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Agora Pavilion

    This community market, launched in 1998, has been steadily growing in size, diversity and following ever since. Located under the iconic Agora Pavilion, shoppers can stroll through the abundance of each season’s color and vibrancy. Visit with neighbors and friends while enjoying the beautiful prairie and pond setting. The market draws an average of 25 vendors from all over Southern Wisconsin selling everything from produce to flowers to baked goods and more. Watch for special events on the third Thursday of each month featuring local charities, demonstrations and live music.

  2. Fall Cleanup Day - Shred Event, Electronics Recycling, Med Drop

    September 22, 2018, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Community Center

    Gather up unwanted confidential documents, electronics, and meds and join us at the City of Fitchburg’s fall cleanup event, held on City Campus on Saturday, September 22, from 8:00-11:00 a.m. • Pellitteri Waste Systems will provide free shredding and recycling to destroy no more than three boxes of confidential paper documents. • Resource Solutions Corp. will collect old electronics, computers, and appliances for recycling from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Televisions, Freon Bearing Appliances, Large Appliances, Exercise Equipment, and Grills will have an associated recycling fee. • The Fitchburg Police Department has a MedDrop box that will be available to collect unwanted or unused medications. Please place the unwanted medications into a plastic bag for disposal. No sharps will be allowed for collection. Enter at the Police Department entrance of City Hall, 5520 Lacy Rd. The MedDrop box is open to residents from 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

  3. Out of the Fire: The Banned Books Monologues

    In celebration of Banned Books Week, the Forward Theater Company will be performing five monologues inspired by a banned book. The monologues will be followed by a question and answer session. Salinger, The New Technology inspired by The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, Singed inspired by Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, Laffs with Two F's inspired by Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey, and On Toronto inspired by Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss.

  5. Make it Snappy: Snap Circuits at the Library

    Are your kids interested in learning how electronics work? If so, Circuit Science could be the perfect program! During the Circuit Science program, kids will have the opportunity to construct a circuit projects using Snap Circuits. Those attending the program will be provided with a colorful manual with pictures explaining how to build the projects, and children’s staff will be around to help.
