On July 21, 2018 at approximately 4:15pm, officers of the Fitchburg Police Department were called to the 1900 block of Pike Dr. for several reports of shots being fired. According to several callers, 5-8 shots were fired from a subject who had been a passenger in a darker colored sedan. The shots had been fired from the street toward several apartment buildings, while people were out in the area.

Officers also located a loaded handgun magazine in the roadway. No injuries have been reported and there are no suspects identified at this time. This is not believed to be a random incident.
Just prior to the shots being fired, around 2:30pm, officers had been called to the area of Pike Dr. and Eggiman Rd. for a possible large disturbance where one male had been assaulted by several other males.
