Just before 9:30 am on Tuesday, May 21, the Fitchburg Fire Department responded to the report of an injury on a construction site in the City of Fitchburg.
Personnel from Fitchburg Fire and FitchRona EMS were taken to the patient who had an injury to his lower leg. Paramedics from FitchRona EMS initiated treatment while Fitchburg Fire personnel worked out the safest and most efficient way to lift the patient out of the sub-level area where he was located.
Technical rescue equipment, along with the help of an on-site crane, was used to lift the patient to ground level so that he could be transported for further medical care.
