The City will be constructing a roundabout at the Nesbitt Road and Fitchrona Road intersection this summer. The intersection is currently controlled with a four-way stop. Over the past several years, traffic volumes have steadily increased, and the intersection now experiences significant delays and long lines of traffic during peak traffic hours. Over the past year, the City has evaluated existing traffic operations at the intersection and has considered different improvements to address current and future traffic volumes.
Construction will begin on June 24th. The intersection will be closed for the entirety of the project and signed detour routes will be provided. Access to local businesses will be maintained at all times. The intersection is anticipated to be open and operational by October 2nd, with full project completion anticipated by October 25th.
