Tomorrow morning, while the turkey is in the oven, thousands of runners and walkers are expected for the annual Berbee Derby 10K and 5K.
In order for runners, walkers, spectators and motorists to be prepared we would like to share the following:
•Northbound Fish Hatchery Road will be closed at Lacy Road to McKee Road beginning at 8:00 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m.. Fish Hatchery Road traffic is detoured to Richardson Street to McKee Road.
•Northbound Fish Hatchery Road north of Mckee Road will be reduced to one lane to Caddis Bend.
•Eastbound East Cheryl Parkway will be closed at Fish Hatchery Road beginning at 6:30 a.m. Runners, walkers and spectators can access parking areas along East Cheryl Parkway from the east, via Syene Road until 8:25 a.m..
•After 8:25 a.m., employees and visitors to Agrace Hospice Care should access East Cheryl Parkway from the intersection of Lacy Road and Sunflower Drive. Follow the signs from Sunflower Drive to the intersection of Hollyhock Street and E Cheryl Parkway. A police officer will coordinate your travel to Agrace.
•There is no parking along the following roads: Dellvue, Glacier Valley, Gunflint, Woods Hollow and East Cheryl Parkway.
•Research Park Drive is closed from the Fitchburg City Hall complex to Woods Hollow Road.
•Runner drop off is on Research Park Drive south of Lacy Road.
•Berbee Derby recommends arriving by 7:30 a.m. for the best parking. Arriving early will also help you avoid heavy traffic and road closures.
