[ARCHIVED] Building Inspection Department Contact Information

At this time, Building Inspection direct contact is by appointment only. We are still accepting permit applications, however, we ask for your patience as we work through the processes. If you need to speak to staff, please see contact information below. You may email, call, or in some cases text (inspections). If you wish to speak to someone in person, you must contact them to set up an appointment.

For remodels, alteration, installs, etc. please email permit application and plans (if project requires it). You may email the applications directly to buildingpermits@fitchburgwi.gov.

For new construction build, please email one set of PDF plans, with permit applications. We will also need you to drop off 2 complete PDF sets with the applications and other paperwork. A bin is set up in the main lobby of City Hall right as you come into the building. There will be an orange sign on it. Please try to keep paperwork attached to plans. Please notify us once you have dropped everything off. We will confirm with you when we have received and entered them into the process.

Inspections for remodels, alterations, installs, etc., will be done on a case by case basis. Please contact Paul Scott at 608-216-8038 or paul.scott@fitchburgwi.gov. Paul will determine what is needed based on the project.

Plan Review Questions – Contact John Crook, call 608-575-4752 or email john.crook@fitchburgwi.gov

Planning and Zoning Questions – Email (preferred contact method) planning@fitchburgwi.gov, or call 608-270-4256

Property Maintenance Questions – Contact Jack Pearson, call 608-270-4242, or email jack.pearson@fitchburgwi.gov

All other general questions may be directed to buildingpermits@fitchburgwi.gov and they will be directed to the appropriate person.

Property Maintenance and apartment inspections that are not deemed an exigent emergency have been temporarily suspended to minimize contact as suggested by the CDC and Dane County Public Health.  We will still record complaints and follow up. Please use the email provided above.

The Clerk’s department on the main floor is extremely busy with voters. We ask that you limit your contact with them. They are unable to answer any building permit questions. Please text, call, or email the contacts above with any questions.
