[ARCHIVED] Solid Waste Collection Update

Due to COVID-19, our waste hauler Pellitteri has shared some minor changes to their operations.

  • Curbside large item collection is suspended until further notice to protect the health and safety of drivers. If you need to dispose of something feel free to call Pellitteri at 608-257-4285 for alternative disposal methods.
  • Cart deliveries and exchanges curbside will continue as normal.
  • Cart swap-outs at Pellitteri’s office are discontinued at this time.
  • Extra bags of recycling outside of the recycling cart will continue to be picked up as long as they are in clear plastic bags (32-gallons, 50 lbs or less).
  • Extra bags of trash that are pre-paid for will continue to be picked up. Please call Pellitteri to handle payment of extra bags.
  • To help protect the driver please ensure that your trash and recycling bins, as well as contents, are secure. Spills and loose materials can pose a hazard when being picked up by the driver.

Thank you for your help and understanding with these changes. If you have any further questions please reach out to either Pellitteri directly at 608-257-4285, or Fitchburg Public Works at 608-270-4287.
