On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at 3:13am, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Post Road for a Stabbing.
Upon arrival in the area, officers located one adult male victim with several non-life threatening stab wounds. The victim was able to provide a suspect description and direction of travel. A short time later, a traffic stop was conducted and a suspect from the stabbing was detained reference this investigation.
Follow-up interviews with the victim and other witnesses led to the arrest of Amari D. Johnson-Amos, of Madison, for one count of Battery and one count of Second Degree Reckless Endangering Safety. Johnson-Amos was also arrested on several outstanding warrants.
The investigation revealed the victim and Johnson-Amos were involved in a physical altercation before Johnson-Amos armed himself and stabbed the victim.
The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
