A seventeen-year-old is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following an early morning traffic crash in Fitchburg. Around 2:00 a.m., Sunday morning, Fitchburg officers and emergency personnel responded to the northbound lanes of Highway 14, just south of County Highway MM, for a single-vehicle crash.
Rescuers located the car, 1999 tan Chevrolet Lumina, in the median of Highway 14 where it struck a tree. Fitchburg Fire Rescue extricated the driver, who was the vehicle's only occupant. The driver was transported to the hospital by Fitch-Rona EMS with life-threatening injuries.
The crash investigation remains open, and no additional information is available for release at this time. The Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a reconstruction of the crash. The Village of Oregon Police Department assisted the Fitchburg Police Department at the scene.
