[ARCHIVED] Alternate Side Parking

Fitchburg Police Department News

In addition to cold weather and snow, November also brings alternate side parking restrictions. Help our public works crews keep our streets safe and clear by following this ordinance.

Alternate Side Parking Restrictions Begin
Beginning at 1 a.m. on November 15, alternate side parking parking restrictions are in effect. These restrictions are in effect seven days a week regardless of the weather and remain in place until March 15.

The alternate side parking ordinance states: No person in the City of Fitchburg shall park, stop or leave standing any vehicle between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the odd side of the street on the even numbered calendar days and on the even numbered side of the street on the odd numbered calendar days except as posted otherwise.

Remember to consider the date change if you are parking your car on the street before midnight. The ordinance applies from 1 to 7 a.m., so you your vehicle should be parked on the side of the street based on the date it will be at 1 a.m..
