Gunfire Tuesday night led to a bullet traveling through three occupied apartments at a Fitchburg apartment complex. Around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, multiple callers reported hearing a loud “pop” in the 3300 block of Leopold Way. Responding officers did not immediately locate any property damage or other evidence to indicate shots had been fired.
Officers returned to the area Wednesday morning looking for evidence and discovered a single bullet had traveled through three separate apartments. After speaking with the residents, officers learned all three apartments had people inside of them at the time of the shooting. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
