On May 9th, at approximately 3:05 AM, officers responded to the 3300 block of Leopold Way for a person reporting they were shot in the leg. The investigation revealed that two adults and a young child had returned to the parking lot of their Leopold Way address in a vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle, the driver was approached by a male suspect who displayed a handgun and the suspect attempted to go through the driver’s pockets. The driver ran off and the suspect stayed behind.

The suspect then turned towards the passenger who had exited the vehicle and shot the passenger in the leg and the suspect then drove off. While driving away the suspect continued to fire his gun at the vehicle. One of the bullets struck the vehicle window where the young child was seated in a car seat. The child sustained cuts to the face and eye area from the shattered glass window.

The passenger and child received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspects left in an older style black four door vehicle similar to a Toyota Camry.
The suspects are described as: #1- male black, 20-23 years of age, 5’10”, 170lbs, with short dreadlocks for hair. #2- male black, approximately 6’0”, with a medium build, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

This investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made.
