Pike Drive Death Investigation Update

The deceased male has been tentatively identified. He is from the Madison area. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office is in the process of contacting the male's family. A forensic autopsy has been scheduled. Further information regarding the male's identity will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner.
No further information regarding the investigation will be released at this time.

Address of Call: 1911 Pike Drive
On March 22, 2016, at approximately 8:35 a.m. Fitchburg Police and Fitch-Rona EMS were dispatched to the area of Pike Drive and Eggiman Road for a report of an unresponsive male.
Upon arrival, officers located a male subject behind 1911 Pike Drive. It was determined this male was deceased. Officers immediately secured the scene and requested additional resources.
Detectives, officers, and other personnel from Fitchburg Police, Madison Police, Dane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office are on scene. This team of personnel has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of this male. Interviews with area residents, witnesses, and scene processing is underway.
At this time, we do not have any information to believe there is an immediate threat to the community.
