On Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 at approximately 1:21AM, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the intersection of Smithfield Drive and Williamsburg Way for a 911 disconnect. During the initial investigation, officers learned a strong-arm robbery had taken place approximately 15 minutes prior to the 911 disconnect.
The investigation revealed that the victim was walking on Smithfield Drive when a silver SUV, unknown make or model, pulled up next to them. A subject exited the SUV, pushed the victim, grabbed the victim’s purse, returned to the SUV, and was last seen travelling westbound on Williamsburg Way.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s with a scar on his right cheek and facial hair. The suspect was wearing a dark jacket or hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and black pants.
