[ARCHIVED] Fitchburg Awarded $1 Million Dollar Transportation Economic Assistance Grant

Governor Scott Walker announced today that the City of Fitchburg will receive a Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) Grant. The $1,000,000 award represents the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's (WisDOT) contribution toward the design and construction of two new municipal streets: Sprocket and Spoke Drives. The addition of these streets will provide safe and more convenient access to expanding Fitchburg businesses, Certco Inc. and Saris Cycling Group, Inc. Other growing businesses in the Arrowhead Neighborhood will also benefit from these improvements as the new street will ease congestion and provide better access, particularly to shipping and receiving facilities. "We are pleased that the Department of Transportation made this crucial investment in this infrastructure. It will directly lead to business expansion with job retention and creation, which will help our economy grow by providing more family supporting jobs," said Fitchburg Mayor Shawn Pfaff.
