The bulky plastic recycling dumpster at teh Fitchburg Recycling Drop Off site (2373 S. Fish Hatchery Rd) ending on Saturday, September 30. Bulky plastic material such as five gallon buckets and children's toys, if they cannot be reused, resold or donated, should be placed into the refuse to be sent to the landfill. Pellitteri Waste Systems provides the recycling for Fitchburg and can no longer find a recycling option. This is due to an import ban on certain types of plastic scrap enacted by the government of China. Residents are reminded that the landfill is the last option for bulky plastic materials.
