    Part 1 - Waubesa Wetlands: What is the state of our water quality? UW-Madison Water Resources Management graduate students will share what they've learned about water quality and wetland ecosystems in the Waubesa Wetlands Watershed. Part 2 - Salt Reduction: Salt is a challenging water quality issue. Learn more from Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District staff about the impact of salt in our environment and the importance of reducing salt use. Pizza and refreshments at 6:15 pm.

    You’ll be a more informed citizen after participating in this discussion group! We’ll cover four topics after reading summaries from the 2018 Great Decisions Briefing Book (available at the 2nd Floor Reference Desk). Each participant will also have the opportunity to submit an opinion ballot (the results of which are distributed to the White House, members of Congress, the departments of State and Defense, etc). The topic for 3/12 is Global Migration. Future dates are: 3/26, 4/9, 4/23, 5/7. This group is for anyone and everyone; please contact us with any questions!

    RESCHEDULED FROM FEBRUARY! This two part, one night program focuses on local water issues. Part one will include UW-Madison graduate students presenting research on the Waubesa Wetlands Watershed. Part two will inclue information on salt reduction and its impact on the environment from the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage Division. Program presented thanks to the City of Fitchburg Resource Conservation Commission.
