All courts are open to the public on a first come, first served basis UNLESS scheduled for a Recreation Department program, or private rental. A paper schedule will be posted at court entrances on Monday mornings during the rental season (May-Oct), however these schedules may not be accurate if in-person reservations are made throughout the week. Open Play Schedule
What is Open Play? Open Play = Pick-Up. It is a scheduled time where players of any skill level are invited to show up and play with others.
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00am-11:00am
- Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-8:00pm

Court Rentals
Courts 3-8 will be available to rent in 2-hour time blocks when not scheduled for Open Play or other Recreation Department programs. Each time block will cost $10 for Fitchburg residents, and $20 for non-residents.
Reservation Procedure
- Reservations will open the first business day in April. Courts will be reservable from the first Monday in May until the last Sunday in October.
- We can only accept reservation requests online or in-person at the Recreation Office (5510 Lacy Road, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm).
- Online requests must be made at least 7 days prior to the reservation date. Requests will be reviewed by staff who will then add the fee and send a notification email. Once the notification email is sent payment must be made by the following business day or the request will expire.
- In-person requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to reservation date, EXCEPT weekend reservations must be made by Thursday - Reservations for the weekend will not be accepted on Fridays. Payment is due at time of reservation.
- The court rental schedule will be linked at the top of this page, and will be updated daily. A paper schedule will also be posted at court entrances on Monday mornings, however these schedules may not be accurate if in-person reservations are made throughout the week.
- Renters are advised to always have a copy of their permit available to show in case of a dispute. If you are having trouble with gaining access to your court at your specified reservation time, or are having any other day-of reservation problem please contact the Parks Department at (608) 270-4288.
Cancelation Policy
- Once a reservation is paid for all fees are non-refundable, except in the case of inclement weather. If you are unable to utilize your reserved time due to inclement weather, a credit for the rental amount will be put on your online account for future use towards another rental, activity enrollment, etc. (Note: wind will not be considered unless a Wind Advisory is issued by the National Weather Service).
- Inclement Weather Procedure: To receive a credit on your account, renters must email the Parks Director (Scott.Endl@FitchburgWI.gov) within 24 hours after the reservation. The email must contain the Permit #, reservation date & time, and cancelation reason.
- If a reservation must be changed due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, the Parks Director or an authorized agent will attempt to mediate a solution with any and all parties affected by the conflict. The City reserves the right to unilaterally change the reservation schedule if needed, and permits can be rescheduled or canceled by the City.

Four parks in Fitchburg have tennis courts which have been painted for dual pickleball use. Please note: tennis nets are slightly taller than pickleball nets.
