Domestic Violence Team

The Domestic Violence (DV) Team is made up of numerous department members, including a patrol lieutenant, patrol sergeants, patrol officers, detectives, a social worker, and a court liaison. The DV Team focuses on victim advocacy and connecting victims to appropriate resources after domestic abuse has occurred.

The DV Team follows up with domestic violence victims and other involved individuals following a domestic abuse incident. Team members talk to victims, provide them with additional support and resources, and ensure that all evidence and information has been fully documented. Officers take photographs of injuries, conduct further investigation, and attempt to apprehend offenders if they were not already apprehended. Officers also ensure that no further crimes have been committed since the incident and put a plan in place to mitigate further domestic issues.
