Crime Prevention

In its most simple definition crime prevention is the attempt to reduce and deter crime and criminals. Crime prevention can occur in many different ways and can have a great impact on the safety and quality of life in our city. Our number one partner in preventing crime is you. It does not matter how old you are, where you live or what you do for a living; you can help prevent crime!

The most important component of crime prevention is education and information. We have collected a wide array of links, tips and other resources to provide you with the most current and relevant crime prevention and safety resources.

The department also has specially trained officers who are available to provide presentations on a variety of topics related to crime prevention. Officers routinely provide presentations to businesses, neighborhood associations or other groups who have a desire to become more educated about crime prevention.
