Study Overview
The City of Fitchburg, in partnership with the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC), was the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Housing and Urban Development Agency's Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program to study different methods of meeting CARPC stormwater management requirements for new developments in the city.
Emmons and Olivier Resources (EOR), of Oakdale, Minnesota, was contracted by the city to undertake the study. EOR undertook a literature review and created a stormwater management modeling report focused on the McGaw Park Neighborhood, a planned higher-density, transit orientated development in the city. EOR also coordinated a charette (workshop) for landowners and development community to provide additional detail on the study, as well as gather feedback from charette attendees.
