The roundabout construction at Fitchrona Road and Nesbitt Road
is nearly complete and will be open to traffic at 2pm on Friday October 4,
2019. Fitchrona Road between Lacy Road and Nesbitt Road will remain
closed due to flooding under the USH 151 bridges. City staff are
continuing to monitor the water levels and will open this to traffic as soon as
safely possible.
Landscaping within the
construction area will continue over the next few weeks, but will be limited to
off peak times of 9am to 3pm. During those times you can expect to see
contractors and equipment that may temporarily block traffic or create some
delays. Please slow down and be extra vigilant while traveling through
the active construction zone.
The 1.4 million dollar
intersection improvement was completed by Integrity Grading and Excavating and
designed by AECOM. The project opening date of October 2 was nearly met
if not for the rain that occurred right at the end of the project that
prevented the pavement markings from being completed. The roundabout will
reduce delays and backups that were witnessed with the 4-way stop. The
intersection improvements have been designed to accommodate traffic growth to
occur over the next 25+ years. We thank you all for your patience during
the past 3 months.
