We have some great upcoming events that require registration! Please call the Youth Desk at 608-729-1762 to register.


Monday, September 9
  • Candy Sushi (ages 9-12) @ 6:00 p.m. Join us at the Fitchburg Public Library and learn how to make candy sushi! Transform regular candy into sushi rolls and vote on the most colorful, the most authentic and the best in show.
Tuesday, September 17
  • READ to a Dog (ages 5-12) @ 5:00 p.m. Reading to a dog is a wonderful way to build reading skills and confidence. Independent readers in grades K-5 can sign-up for a 20 minute spot to sit down and read to a registered therapy animal.
Saturday, September 28
  • Circuits: Squishy and Snap (ages 5-12) @ 3:00 p.m. Are your kids interested in learning how electronics work? If so, Circuit Science could be the perfect program! During the Circuit Science program, kids will have the opportunity to construct a circuit project using Snap Circuits or Squishy Circuits! Children’s staff will be around to help. Kids ages 5-8 will require parent guidance during the program.
Saturday, October 12
  • Pumpkin Painting (ages 5-12) @ 11:00 a.m. Join us at the Fitchburg Library to create and paint your own pumpkin. Pumpkins will be provided.
Tuesday, October 15
  • READ to a Dog (ages 5-12) @ 5:00 p.m. Reading to a dog is a wonderful way to build reading skills and confidence. Independent readers in grades K-5 can sign-up for a 20 minute spot to sit down and read to a registered therapy animal.

  • Pumpkin Bowling (ages 5-12) @ 6:00 p.m. Join the Fitchburg Public Library in some Halloween-themed bowling! Try to knock over the ghostly bowling pins with a rolling pumpkin or gourd.
Monday, October 28
  • Make Your Own Monster Mask (ages 9-12) @ 6:00 p.m. Whether you prefer a scary monster or a sweet princess, make your own Halloween mask with us! A variety of fun supplies will be provided, you just bring your creativity!
Tuesday, October 29
  • Spooky Breakout Challenge (ages 5-12) @ 3:30 p.m. Solve spooky puzzles, decipher creepy clues, and unlock a scary mystery in the library.
