Monday, February 3
Preschool Storytime (ages 2-5) @ 9:30 a. m.
Preschool Storytime (ages 2-5) @ 11:00 a. m.
Zany Ziplines (ages 5-12) @ 4:00 p. m. Come to the library for a STEM workshop and learn about the science of ziplines, then build your own! Can you safely deliver an object from the top of your zipline to the ground?
Tuesday, February 4
Lapsit Storytime (ages 0-2) @ 11:00 a. m. A 20-minute storytime for babies and toddlers featuring stories, songs, bounces, and rhymes. Followed by a 15-minute social time for caregivers and playtime for babies and toddlers. No registration is required.
Wednesday, February 5
Explorastory! (ages 1-3) @ 10:00 a. m. Join us each month to explore one book, in-depth, through hands-on activities. Discovery encouraged. First up—If You Give a Pig a Pancake! Leave your jammies on because we’ll eat pancakes, listen to the audio book and learn about cause and effect through play!
We Are In A Book Club! (ages 5-8) @ 6:00 p. m. Calling all kids ages 5-8 who love to read and make new friends. Join Fitchburg- area youth for good books, yummy snacks, and fun activities. Let’s read and discuss the book chosen during last months meeting! And just like Elephant and Piggie let's declare with pride, "WE ARE IN A BOOK CLUB!"
Thursday, February 6
READ to a Dog (ages K-5) @ 5:00 p.m. NOTE: We have expanded this program to include the first Thursday of each month as well! Reading to a dog is a wonderful way to build reading skills and confidence. Independent readers in grades K-5 can sign-up for a 20 minute spot to sit down and read to a registered therapy animal. Registration required. Call 608-729-1762 or stop by the Youth Services desk.
Friday, February 7
Book Boogie (ages 2-5) @ 11:00 a. m. Boogie on down to the Fitchburg Public Library for a morning filled with books, dancing, crafts and more! If you love music and movement, this is the program for you. Recommended for toddlers and preschoolers who love to move.
Smile! (ages 5-12) @ 4:00 p. m. If you’re a fan of Raina Telgemeier’s graphic novels Smile, Sisters and Guts, you won’t want to miss this! From braces, friendship, road trips and worries, enjoy crafts and activities based on Raina’s “growing up” years…and her bestselling books!
