Here is what's coming up this week at your library:
Friday, May 3
  • Magic Workshop (ages 5-12) @ 4:00 p.m. Abracadabra! Come to the library to learn beginning magic tricks and practice your magic skills. We'll have books and activities for varying skill levels!
Saturday, May 4
  • Mad City Violin Music (ages 8 and under) @ 3:00 p.m. Enjoy a performance of both modern and traditional violin music from the students of Mad City Viola and Violin Studio. After, audience members will get the chance to experience the instruments with a hands-on “petting zoo” of the violins. For families with children ages 8 and under.
Monday, May 6
  • Preschool Storytime (ages 2-5) @ 9:30 a.m.
  • Preschool Storytime (ages 2-5) @ 11:00 a.m.
  • I Survived @ the Library: Tornado edition (ages 5-12) @ 6:00 p.m. Come the Fitchburg Public Library and learn the science behind what creates destructive tornadoes! Based on the book I Survived: The Joplin Tornado, 2011, we will do survival activities to learn how to survive a tornado.
Tuesday, May 7
  • Lapsit Storytime (ages 0-2) @ 11:00 a.m.  
Wednesday, May 8
  • Toddler Art (ages 1-3) @ 10:00 a.m. Explore and play with fun art materials! Children will practice fine motor skills as they engage in process art or create crafts. Parents are encouraged to stop in at various times throughout the hour. Be prepared to get messy! Please bring smocks or "messy clothes" for your child.
  • We Are in a Book Club! (ages 5-8) @ 6:00 p.m. Calling all kids ages 5-8 who love to read and make new friends. Join Fitchburg- area youth for good books, yummy snacks, and fun activities. Let’s read and discuss the book chosen during last months meeting! And just like Elephant and Piggie let's declare with pride, "WE ARE IN A BOOK CLUB!"
Thursday, May 9
  • Bouncing Babies (ages 0-1) @ 1:00 p.m. This program will have lap rhymes, songs, stories and fun! After the program, enjoy social time with other parents/caregivers and tummy time for the babies. This program is ideal for prewalkers, starting at birth.
Saturday, May 11
  • Mother's Day Crafts (ages 2-5) @ 11:00 a.m. Drop down to the Fitchburg Library and enjoy making a craft for the mommy in your life! Recommended for children ages 2-5 years old.
