The Fitchburg Public Library is pleased to announce that we will be expanding our in-person services, beginning on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021.
With this change in service, we have new guidelines for patrons coming into the Library. Please read all of these guidelines before your visit and observe newly posted signs throughout the building.

Health & Safety
In accordance with CDC and State guidelines, patrons who are fully vaccinated may use the Library without a face covering. All patrons, regardless of vaccination status, are strongly encouraged to wear a mask in the Library.
Please respect the safety of staff and other patrons. Do not enter the Library if you are sick, experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have recently been in contact with someone who has a confirmed or suspected case.
The Library is taking precautions to protect our patrons and staff. This includes, but is not limited to, shielding at service points, regular cleaning of high-use surfaces, and hand sanitizing stations. We cannot guarantee that the Library is free of germs and viruses. We ask that you determine if the Library is a safe place for you and your family.

Please Know:
ALL returned materials must be placed in a book drop.
Returned materials will not be accepted at any service point in the building.
Returned materials will be quarantined for a period of time before check-in.
Touch screens and toys have been removed from the Children's Library to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patrons.

Computer sessions have been adjusted to 2 hours per day.
Material donations will be limited to 20 items at a time. Donations will not be accepted at any service point in the building.
Underground parking is available during open hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Please know:
Social distancing is recommended between patrons and staff who are placing books out for pickup.
Curbside is for same-day pickup ONLY.
Pickup can be requested once per day.
Items that are currently waiting for you on the hold shelf can be ready for pickup within 1 hour.
Items that are available in our library can be ready for pickup within 2 hours.
Orders need to be picked up within 2 hours.
Have your library card number ready.
If you do not reach us on the first try, please call again. Orders must be placed directly with staff, and cannot be arranged over voicemail or email.
